Call for Special Session

Important Dates
Submission deadline: Monday, March 14, 2011 (closed )
Acceptance notification: Friday, March 18, 2011
Call for Papers deadline: Friday, April 1, 2011

Proposals are solicited for special session to be held in conjunction with PDP 2012. Special sessions may be related to any topics within the conference scope:

  • Parallel Computing
  • Distributed and Network-based Computing
  • Data Intensive Computing
  • PDP Models and Tools
  • PDP Systems and Architectures
  • PDP Advanced Algorithms and Applications

Special sessions proceedings will be published in the same volume as for the main track of PDP by Conference Publishing Service (CPS). To simplify the submission process, paper submission of special session can be placed in the same reviewing system as for the main track.

Special Session Proposal Submission

For new special sessions, proposals should include:

  • Special Session title
  • A draft "Call for Papers"
  • Expected number of submissions and acceptance rate
  • Program chair(s), and, if available, tentative program committee
  • A one-paragraph biographical sketch for each organizer, describing
  • relevant qualifications, including research and conference/special session organizing experience

For previously-held special sessions, in addition to the above, proposals could provide the following information, for the most recent editions:

  • Number of submissions
  • Number of accepted papers
  • Number of registered attendees

Please submit special session proposals by email to the program chairs of PDP 2012:

Special session organizer TODO list:

  • will act as chairs of their respective special sessions. Respectively they will be noted as special session Chairs in the program and in the conference proceedings.
  • will have to set up a program committee
  • will publish a Call for Papers for their special session
  • will make publicity
  • will dispatch the reviews
  • will define the status of papers (accepted/rejected)
  • will chair their special session during PDP 2012
